I wanted to post a story of “hope,” as I’d received a call from a new customer whose hope seemed to be diminishing. I asked that she stay tuned to our Page. For those who are new to www.vitaminguy.com , this is Part 1:
1. It was the mid 1980′s. Jeanne was 22 and I was 28. She had played golf most of her life. The golf course had been her sanctuary throughout a difficult upbringing and as a result, she found a career in the sport.
I found her working at a resort course I often played in LA.
I’d steal a chance to get a look at her as often as possible ~ and even catch a smile at times. I was, however, extremely shy, and a little insecure about how this beautiful young Golf Pro would respond to my pursuit.
I began to play more at that particular course. I was a young CFO and work was all consuming, but I’d break away to go to the course and get a look at “that girl,” and play some golf to refresh my soul.
I remember the day, on my way to the Club, I decided to go “all the way…” I was going to introduce myself to her and ask her out for lunch, dinner, a drink… whatever she wanted. But when I arrived in the Pro Shop, I was told Jeanne had just left, for another job. Just like that, she was gone.
Though she wasn’t “mine,” I felt like I’d lost her, and I had no idea where to even begin looking for her. She had taken a piece of my heart and simply disappeared.
I was used to that…people disappearing, especially when I thought I might like them. I think it’s part of the reason I was so shy. Nothing ventured, nothing truly lost. So, my life went on. I checked back a few times hoping that she would magically reappear, but alas it was not to be.
